Celebrating the Healthcare Heroes of India

Metropolis Healthcare in association with Metropolis Foundation hosted the 2nd edition of ‘Healthcare Heroes of India 2022’ on September 3^rd, 2022. A CSR initiative conceptualised by Metropolis, the Healthcare Heroes of India was initiated to identify and recognize those individuals and institutions in the healthcare sector with a strong sense of purpose and commitment towards patient care and who have prioritised it over all other growth parameters.

Over the last two years, Healthcare workers and people working in the healthcare sector have faced unprecedented challenges and worked day in and out to save countless lives. The spirit of patient care and unparalleled sacrifices led to the inception of Healthcare Heroes of India in the year 2021.

Around 15 winners were felicitated with the Healthcare Heroes Award, and they comprised of doctors, frontline workers (nurses, ward boys) working with private and public institutions, hospitals, corporates, NGOs, Municipal Corporations/Officers, and a Special Jury Award for the doctors who have contributed to the advancement of the field and service to the country. Ernst and Young Ernst & Young LLP were appointed as the process partner for this initiative. All the winners were recognized through a virtual award ceremony and the second edition received a good response and was appreciated and acknowledged by the healthcare fraternity. The event also turned out to be a great platform which showcased untold stories of service, empathy and dedication, innovation, and determination of healthcare professionals during the Covid-19 pandemic.
