Launched in 2018, MedEngage is a nationwide program designed to share the knowledge, experience and expertise of Metropolis Healthcare in the field of Laboratory Medicine with young medical students who lack financial support. Currently in its fifth year, the program includes Academic Research Support, Scholarships and Observerships and continues to benefit more students each year, with the aim to bring positive changes in the Healthcare Academic and Research landscape in India. Every year, the MedEngage Scholarship Program is promoted by 250 of its own doctors and a 3,500-member scientific team. The participants and winners of the previous years extend their support with registrations, encouraging students from their own colleges to apply. The program works with an independent process partner to define the process, as well as screen and shortlist students with an external jury of eminent doctors. Students are evaluated based on a task, their documents, overall academic performance, papers published, participation in journal publications, and extracurricular activities. Finalists are shortlisted and rewarded under various category titles like Champion of Champions, Pedagogue, Wizkid, Scholar Collar, The Vibrant One, and The Wordsmith, depending on their final scores and their overall academic performance. A cash reward starting from INR 20,000 up to INR 1,25,000 is awarded to students.
